벨기에 왕국의 국왕 내외가 문대통령의 국빈 초청으로 3월25일부터 3일간 한국을 방문한다.
벨기에 국왕 필립 국왕 내외는 80여명의 기업총수와 15개 대학총장 등 각계 대규모 사절단을 동행하여 한국. 벨기에 양국 관계는 새로운 협력시대를 열어가고 있다.

양국 정상은 1901는 수교 이래 양국 협력관계의 발전상을 평가하는 한편 ICT 화학, 물류, 식품 등 양국 모두의 강점을 가진 분야에서 호의적이고 미래지향적인 협력을 강화하는 구체적인 방안에 대해 협의할 예정이다.
문재인대통령은 또한 EU 통합 및 역대 평화정착 과정에서 중심적 역할을 해온 벨기에의 경험을 공유하고 한반도 프로세스에 대해 유엔 안보리 이사국인 벨기에의 지속적인 지지와 협력을 재확인할 예정이다.
필립 국왕 내외의 방한은 2017년 벨기에 경제 사절단 방문 후 더욱 활발해진 교역 및 투자 협력과 모멘텀을 공고히 나가는 한편 문재인대통령의 정상외교의 지평을 다변화 하는 계기가 될 것으로 기대하고 있다.
벨기에 왕국, 국왕은 세습제도에 따라 승계되고 국왕은 국가원수로 나라를 상징하는 대표적인 존재로 국정을 중재하는 역할과 군사를 지휘하는 최고 통수권자로 입법, 행정, 사법에 관하여 상징적인 권한을 행사하는 입헌 군주제이다.
벌기에 필립국왕은 왕세자 시절부터 네 차례나 한국을 방문한 친한 인사로 이번 정상회담을 계기로 양국관계가 우호증진과 함께 경제 교류가 더욱 발전할 것으로 기대하고 있다.
필립국왕은 마틸드 왕비와 함께 단독, 확대회담을 가지는 시간 외에 서울 그랜트 하얏트 호텔 남산 피룸에서 핀테크 세미나를 개최하고, 마틸데 왕비가 한국 핀테크 기업의 유럽진출 교두보 브뤼셀 비즈니스 환경을 소개할 예정이다.
월드 핀테크 협회와 한국정보 산업 연합회, 브뤼셀 투자청이 공동 주최하는 이 행사에는 핀테크 비즈니스 현황과 기업 우호적인 여러 세제 혜택등이 소개될 예정이어서 유럽 진출을 희망하는 한국 핀테크 들에게는 기회의 생사가 되고 한국 핀테크 산업의 해외진출에 크게 기여할 것으로 전망된다.

아름답고 부유한 동화의 나라 맥주와 초콜렛이 먼저 떠오르고, 중세도시의 고즈넉한 향수와 유럽전통 문화가 숨 쉬는 관광의 명소이기도 하다.
한국.벨기에 정상회담을 통해 가깝고 멀었던 유럽의 문이 더욱 가까이 다가올 것으로 기대된다.

The visit to and from King Phillip is expected to serve as an opportunity to diversify the horizon of President Moon Jae-in's summit diplomacy while strengthening trade and investment cooperation and momentum that have become more active since the visit of the Belgian Economic Mission in 2017.

This event, which is co-hosted by the World Pin-Tech Association, Korea Federation of Information Industries, and the Brussels Investment Authority, will introduce the status of pin-tec business and various tax benefits that are favorable to companies. And it is expected to contribute greatly to the overseas advancement of the pintech industry in Korea.
